Celebrate!

I’m so happy! I finally got a call to go to work! Yeah!

I was thinking a lot about my situation. I have only had 5 weeks of work since the end of October. I had planned to go to the Rigzone job fair in Houston today and meet a friend for lunch afterwards. I had to blow off that and everything else and just get ready to go to work. Pack, clean out the fridge, get rid of garbage, drop off library books, get all the bills in the mail, make important phone calls, etc. This job is only for 2 weeks, but thank goodness, it should pay my bills next month.

I heard from a friend late last week that they needed a relief on his boat, so I called about it yesterday. They called me this afternoon and asked if I was available. Hell yes! I’ve been available for months!

I can’t get this song out of my head now. 🙂

Happy New Year 2017

Happy New Year everybody! Here’s to hoping 2017 turns out better than 2016. I’m sure glad to be looking at that one in the rear view mirror. Whew, what a hell of a year!

Will start out tomorrow with the traditional black-eyed peas, cabbage, corn bread and sausage with friends. No, I’m not going out to celebrate anywhere tonight. Did better than I did last year and at least managing to stay up til midnight tonight. Only a few minutes away.

What are you all doing to celebrate? Parties? Fireworks? New Years resolutions?

Whatever you’re up to, I hope you have a great time tonight and a great year coming up! 🙂

Happy 2016!

I sure hope this year turns out better than last year was. Happy New Year 2016! Hope you’re all happy and healthy and ready to roar!

Thanks for checking out my blog, I appreciate it and hope to see you all stick around for more. 🙂

PS- I took the picture at the Renaissance Fair a couple of months ago.

Happy New Year 2015

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2015

It’s almost dinnertime here on the ship, but I think I must still be in time to wish people Happy New Year before the big celebrations are over all over the world.

I hope this year is a good year for everyone and even better than last year! 🙂

Cheers!!

2014 -with fireworks!

I didn’t get to see any fireworks tonight since I’m still out here on the DS-5. We didn’t even try to shoot off our expired pyrotechnics (which is how we usually celebrate New Years and 4th of July out on a ship).

The photo is one of the ones I took at the JaGa Festival in Galveston a few months ago. Here’s a link to an earlier post I made with some other fireworks photos…

I’ve been trying to figure out how to add text to my photos but so far, this is the best I can do. I’m not very good with computers and I haven’t yet taken the time to play with all the things I SHOULD be able to do with all these photography programs I have on here.

Maybe 2014 will allow me more time to work on this sort of thing. Right now I’ve still got so many different projects on my list of things to do I can hardly keep up.

I hope everyone had a nice time for New Years Eve (and no terrible hangovers in the morning). I hope everyone will have a really good year for 2014! 🙂

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Let There Be Light- Celebrate

I took all of these at the JAGA (Jamaica-Galveston) Festival in Galveston last Spring. I actually had a decent camera with me (but still no tripod). Glad they turned out OK.

These are for the Weekly Photo Challenge: Let There Be Light. You can see the other entries and enter at…
